기아, ‘DX KOREA 2022’ 방산전시회 참가

Kia has participated in the "DX KOREA 2022" defense exhibition held at KINTEX in Ilsan from the 21st to the 25th of September.

DX KOREA, along with ADEX (Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition), is an international exhibition to check the current status of the Korean defense industry at a glance, and has been held every other year since the first exhibition in 2014, marking its fifth anniversary this year.

In particular, in order to become a world-class exhibition starting this year, it is expanded into "Weapons System Hall" and "Power Support System Hall," and Kia plans to set up booths in both exhibition halls to promote the excellence of defense technology and products.

The Weapons System Center unveiled a variety of hydrogen-based concepts ranging from small to medium-sized vehicles that offers a glimpse into the future and vision of Kia's military vehicles.

The "Mid-sized Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Concept Car" is a military vehicle developed based on Hyundai Motor's Xcient Hydrogen Electric Truck, and features enhanced mobility by applying excellent convenience devices from existing hydrogen electric trucks while further enhancing 6x6 front wheel drive and minimum ground clearance.

"Hydrogen Fuel Cell ATV Concept Car" is a vehicle that has upgraded the engine-driven ATV concept car unveiled at ADEX 2021 to the next level using hydrogen power, and plans to develop it to secure leadership in future battlefield environments such as low noise and eco-friendly as well as rapid deployment of maneuvers by our military in the future.

The concept car equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell generator is a vehicle equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell generator in a Korean-style small tactical vehicle that has been highly evaluated through actual operation in various countries at home and abroad, and can provide stable power supply even in special environments such as military operation areas and disaster emergency rescue activities.

The Power Support System Hall showcased 2½-ton medium-sized standard vehicle, hydrogen ATV concept car and KLTV bare chassis.

The 2½-ton Medium Tactical Vehicle includes an AWS system with rear wheel steering to improve turning maneuverability, especially in harsh and narrow battlefield road conditions, and height adjustment system to increase loading convenience.

Meanwhile, for the first time at the exhibition, Kia plans to form an exhibition hall adjacent to defense companies in group companies such as Hyundai Rotem and Hyundai Wia and conducted joint marketing activities based on mutual cooperation.

"We wanted to show Kia's outstanding defense technology through this large-scale exhibition of mobile equipment," a Kia official said. "We will continue to present blueprints for next-generation military vehicles to enhance the status of leading defense companies."
